DSSC Holds Coaches’ Coordination Meeting Ahead of PASUC Regional Culture and Arts Festival

The coaches coordination meeting was conducted by the Culture and Arts Coordinator, Jenie Philip Saniel on January 6, 2026 at DSSC Culture and Arts Office. The meeting was part of the process leading to the PASUC Regional Culture and Arts Festival which is slated for March 5 to 8, 2026, at Davao del Norte State College.

The PASUC Regional Culture and Arts Festival is an event that takes place every year and it involves the participation of students from the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of one specific region in the Philippines, who are competing in different cultural and artistic areas like music, dancing, and theater along with visual arts. They are not only displaying their abilities but also preserving their cultural diversity before getting to the national stage. It is the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) that conducts this annual event and it is the main reason for the above-mentioned values being of the Philippine youth – unity, cultural identity, and a strong nation-building foundation.

The meeting revolved around general guidelines, requirements for participants as well as rules for the events so that delegates from the college could get involved and be an effective presence at the coming regional festival.

The coordination meeting was similarly aimed at supporting SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. This is through the enhancing of students’ learning and the preservation of cultural heritage. The meeting points out that the skill of student delegates will be raised and, at the same time, their awareness of the importance of cultural diversity and art will be increased. Also, it advocates for partnerships for the goals by the joint support of the coach and students for SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
