Davao del Sur State College Opens 7th Founding Anniversary with DAYUG Fun Run 2026

Digos City — Davao del Sur State College commenced its 7th Founding Anniversary celebration with the DAYUG Fun Run 2026 on February 17, gathering students, faculty members, staff, and community participants at the College grounds.

The participants gathered for the 5-kilometer run, exchanging greetings and stretching in small groups before the start. At exactly 5:00 AM, they set off from the campus grounds toward Crossing Igpit, the designated turning point, then returned to complete the route.

Some participants ran with competition in mind, while others kept a steady pace alongside friends and colleagues. By the time the last runners crossed the finish line, the campus had turned into a space of shared accomplishment rather than rivalry.

The energy continued with a Zumba session that drew both runners and spectators to join. An awarding ceremony followed, recognizing top finishers among students, faculty, staff, and community participants. Separate awards were given for male and female categories, and special prizes were handed to selected Zumba dancers.

The activity reflects the institution’s support for healthier lifestyles and stronger ties with the community. The event is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3) Good Health and Well-Being and (SDG 17) on Partnerships for the Goals.

As the anniversary week unfolded, the early morning run set a simple but meaningful tone—celebrating seven years of DSSC through movement, participation, and shared campus spirit.
